School Counselors
Mrs. Adams joined the WHS Counseling Department in the Fall of 2019. Before then she served two years as a high school counselor in Navasota, Texas and seven years at Still Creek Academy of Bryan, Texas, where she was first an English teacher and then K-12 School Counselor. She earned her BS in Psychology and Sociology and her Master’s in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. Katie loves working with students and is passionate about helping them envision their future and long-term goals after graduation. Outside of school, Katie enjoys traveling around Massachusetts with her family, playing board games, and salsa dancing.
Mrs. Caira joined the Westborough Counseling Department in 2006. In addition to her role as a school counselor, she is mom to two girls, Caroline and Anna. Her favorite place is on the sideline watching her daughters play soccer and softball, vacationing on Cape Cod and Maine, and relaxing at the lake. In her "free time," Mrs. Caira loves reading, being on her spin bike, and shopping.
Ms. Desroches joined the Westborough School Counseling Department in 2020. She started by covering a school counselor leave and has joined WHS on a full time basis. Prior to joining the WHS team, she spent a year as a paraprofessional and as a substitute teacher. She holds a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and a M.A. in School Counseling, 5-12, from Assumption University. Outside of school, Ms. Desroches enjoys traveling, baking, and scrolling through Tik Tok for hours.

Mr. Pilger joined the WHS School Counseling Department in 2023. For the 6 years prior to that, he worked as a School Counselor at Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham, MA. Alex received his Master's (M.Ed) and Education Specialist (Ed.S) degrees in School Counseling from UMass Amherst and before that he attended Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and Neuroscience. Alex grew up in Williamsburg, MA and in his free time loves to golf, attend concerts, get unreasonably invested in fantasy football, and obsess over his two cats Julius and Titus.
Kayla Tonucci
Miss Tonucci joined the WHS counseling department in 2023. Prior to that she spent a year interning at WHS as a counselor in the CSS program, and the 2 years prior to that working in college admissions. Kayla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communications with a Concentration in Law, and an M.A in School Adjustment Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. Outside of school Kayla enjoys going to the beach, boat rides in the Cape, watching the Bruins, coaching basketball & softball, trips to Disney World, Tj Maxx, the color pink, going to concerts, and her orange cat, Pasta.

Mrs. Ugrinow joined the WHS Counseling Department in December of 2022. Prior to that, Mrs. U has worked all over the state in other school districts. Mrs. U earned her undergraduate degree in English and Secondary Education from Lesley University in 2015, and earned her Master's degree in School Counseling from New York University in 2020. Mrs. U is a WHS Alumni (class of 2011), and is excited to come back in a professional role to help WHS grow. In her free time, Mrs. U enjoys video games, knitting, sewing, playing tennis, watching soccer, and hanging out with her two cats!

Mrs. Kenefick has been the Administrative Assistant in the School Counseling Department since 2008. Prior to joining WHS she was the Office Manager and Documentation Specialist at GeoTrans, Inc. Hydrogeologist and Engineers. In her free time Mrs. K. enjoys time with her family and 2 crazy cats, reading, and spending time at the beach.
